Evaluations are carried out using a standardized form specific to each award category.

Two-stage assessment process:

  • External Evaluator opinions
  • Internal Evaluation Panel assessment

At least 3 internationally recognized field experts are consulted.

External evaluator opinions are gathered through a structured, standardized format.

  • Evaluations are conducted by an internal panel capable of assessing diverse disciplines, supported by internationally recognized external evaluators with expertise in each applicant’s field.
  • Each application is reviewed within the context of its own field, recognizing different forms of knowledge production and impact.
  • All candidates are assessed individually against predefined award criteria.
  • Decisions are criteria-based rather than quota-based; awards may be withheld, and more than one candidate may be awarded when equally meritorious.

In the evaluation process, no distinction is made between candidates who were nominated and those who applied on their own.

Only research conducted at Sabancı University, along with its associated outputs, will be taken into consideration.

If applications are insufficient or criteria are unmet, no award will be granted for that category.

Only one individual is planned to be awarded per category. But the number may increase if candidates are equally qualified.
